Ells Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 We get drawings that AutoCAD substitust proxy fonts for. I can change the text style but for the proxy fonts there is no visual change. In other words even though I set the style to "Standard" and set the standard font to "RomanS" the proxy font still looks odd. If I check the properties the style is Standard but the font can not shake the old font originally defined in the drawing. Is there a global fix for this? I can change the font to RomanS for individual portions of text. Quote
chulse Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Was the dwg created in a vertical product (like Civil 3D) or newer version? Quote
Ells Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 I am not sure but I don't think it was created by anything special. When I check the properties the Style is "Standard" but in the "Content" it starts out with {\Farchd.shx;... even though "Standard" is set to RomanS. When I open the original drawing I do get a message that it was created by a previous version of AutoCAD. Quote
ReMark Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Well here's a suggestion if you want to try it. First though close down AutoCAD. You say the font is named Farchd.shx right? Locate the font file and rename it to something like Farchd.sh~. Now make a duplicate copy of the RomanS.shx font. Rename the duplicate copy to Farchd.shx. Now go open AutoCAD. Has the font changed? I can't promise this will work as I haven't bothered to try it out. Quote
Ells Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Thanks for the tip. I will try that on my lunch break. Right now I have to keep moving and the font issue is not a show stopper, just an annoyance. Thanks again. Quote
