Stanier Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Hi - A rather simple query I fear. Having created a shape say from a number of constituent lines can someone please tell me how that shape can then be converted into an object. Am I then right in thinking that having then created the object, it can then be converted back into its consituent parts by using the Explode command? Many thanks Quote
ReMark Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Are you interested in creating a block? Blocks can be exploded into their individual parts if required later on. The Block command is relatively easy to understand and use. It is explained in your Help file. My suggestion would be to create the constiuent parts on layer "0" that way when you insert the block it will take on the properties (color and linetype) of the layer it is inserted on. The block definition is saved with the drawing. If you wish to use this block in future drawings then I recommend using the WBlock command. This command saves your block to the hard drive as a .dwg file that can be inserted into any drawing. Quote
