katie Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Once the head our CAD department creates a dwg in 2009 it cannot be worked on at any other station. Of course all other stations are using 2007 but the drawing is being saved in 2007. Some of the text is missing, leaders etc. When we can work on a drawing the changes we make to the drawing cannot be seen in 2009. Has anyone else run into issue similar to these with 2009. Tankman Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 How can '07 save as '09? Is this possible? Be sure '07 is saving as AutoCAD 2007 or earlier. Quote
ReMark Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 2009 can "save as" 2007 as the OP mentions. I believe once the drawing is editted it is still saved as 2007 file format but for some reason the user of 2009 is not seeing some of those edits. They are not trying to save from 2007 to 2009 simply because, as you state, it cannot be done. Quote
katie Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 Yes ReMark, you are correct. We cannot see all of the dwg completed in 2009 when we open it in 2007 and this is the format in which the drawing is being saved. Are there any suggestions? Was there an update that would assist us with this issue? Quote
JerryG Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Katie - have you checked the layer state in the new dwg to be sure your you have all the layers on when you open it in 2007? Also check your limits. Ocasionally when the limits are set to low and you do a zoom extents you could lose parts of the dwg. Other than that I'm stumped. Please let us know what the workaround was when you find it. Thanks!
