Hi there,

I am using civil 3d 2010 and have a problem using sections.

I have two main problems.

1. On the sections there is a large gap between the profile and bands (this seems like a datum error...not sure how to fix it) there is also a large gap between the title and the section.

2. In addition to the above I have the two surfaces on the section, but the labels levels for existing and proposed show the same level although there is clearly a difference. (the label says existing, the other proposed, but the values in both are the same).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Please help!!!

1. Have a look at your section view style. (y offset under the "title annotation" tab. for bands check band styles under section view)

2. Sounds like one of the labels is referencing the wrong surface. Check your label styles. (section labels)

Hi Rusty,

Thanks for getting back to me. The problem with the heights is sorted thank you very much.

However the labels issue is still a mystery.

I looked at the labels and tried re-referencing the surface. The labels remained the same.

I will delete the sections and try again.

Any thoughts?

cheers

Iain

No The file is about 10meg quite large. :(

Maybe save a copy of your file out and post the empty file (or the template you created this file from) so someone can inspect the label styles for you. I'm on '08 so I cannot do that for you as I don't believe the styles come back if you save the file back. Not sure really though so I'll try if you want to save it back.

Do you mean the band labels at the bottom of your section view?

select ur section view, right click and select section properties.

On the bands tab, check your design and existing bands and make sure the sections they are pointing to are the correct ones. Sounds like they are both pointing at your existing surface.

Otherwise post a screen shot in jpg format
