GDouglas Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I am creating 3d objects in AutoCad and trying to export them to somthing like: 3dsmax, truspace, maya etc.. (a mesh editor). I am only getting the wireframe at best. Any help? Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Would the STLOUT command give you the results you're looking for and could the file type be imported into the software you mention? Quote
JD Mather Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Don't know if this will work in 2009 http://autodesk.blogs.com/between_the_lines/2007/04/autocad_3dsout_.html Randy says it works for him in 2009, I didn't try myself http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=3dsout+autocad+2009&aq=0&oq=3dsout&aqi=g10 Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 3DSOUT is an "unknown command" in 2009 just as it was in 2008 and 2007. I know that AutoDesk released a 3DSOUT utility that added the functionality back into 2007 and 2008 but I could not find anything on the their website referencing its use in 2009. Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Export a series of 3D objects to STL files with the SOL2STL lisp routine written by Stian Haugli and available for free downloading at: http://www.xordesign.com/xorapp/article.asp?section=Toolbox Quote
