Line Weights

Recommended Posts

I cannot get the line weights to display in model or paper space. I have tried almost everything I can think of or have read on the internet but as I am a new autocad user I know I am obviously doing something wrong. I did not start the drawing from scratch, I am adding on to an existing drawing. Any suggestions?

Lineweights can be assigned within the Layer Properties Manager. To "see" these lineweights you must enable Lineweight Hide/Unhide. Should be an icon at the bottom of your screen.

Try the variable LWDISPLAY

Type: Integer

Saved in: Drawing

Initial value: 0

Controls whether the lineweight is displayed. The setting is saved with each tab in the drawing.

0 Lineweight is not displayed

1 Lineweight is displayed

I am not sure if blocks have any effect on this, But its possible.

Maybe your lineweights are all set to be the same, check layper properties manager. Or maybe check page setup and see what plot style .ctb file you're using and then check what lineweights your colours are set to be in your CTB file.

I know exploding blocks can often "expose" them to lineweights, though I couldn't tell you why. It's not so bad, because you can just update the block with the lineweights in effect.

Wow. I've been looking for this for a while but always assumed they only showed up when you plot.

Thanks Remark.
