Technicowl Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I have a problem which is probably easily solved. The background in paperspace is totally plain and does not show the printable area, paper background or shadow even though these boxes are checked in Tools>Options>Display>Layout Elements. Any help on how to show these would be appreciated. Quote
ReMark Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I don't think you'll see any of this until you select your paper size. Quote
Technicowl Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Thanks ReMark This is not the case, as other machines we have show the background as soon as Autocad is opened. Quote
Technicowl Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 Hi ReMark We weren't using a template. We have altered the startup box from 'Open a Drawing' to 'Start from Scratch' and now in paperspace, the background is still plain but the viewport appears in the bottom left hand quarter of the screen. There is still no printable area etc. Any ideas? Quote
ReMark Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 OK. Just looked at this with my eyes open this time and I see what you mean. I started a new drawing, went immediately to layout and see, as you said, the viewport and printable area. But you say that on this one computer you don't see this at all. Hmmm...I'll have to give that some thought. Did you make any other changes, that you can recall, in Tools > Options? Quote
Technicowl Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 We haven't made any deliberate changes. Autocad on each machine appears to be set up the same but we cannot rule out that someone has pressed a button when they shouldn't have!! Quote
Technicowl Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 All the computers are set up individually but have access to common network drives Quote
Technicowl Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 For information:- Problem solved by entering PLOTROTMODE on command line and altering value to 2 Quote
ReMark Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Glad to hear the problem is solved and thank you for sharing the solution. May I ask how you came up with the answer? Quote
Technicowl Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Found the answer on the Autodesk discussion group where someone else had the same problem Quote
