marlon Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Drawing2.dwg I extruded the polyline by 50 units. I want to fillet the sides with radius 25 so it would have perfectly rounded sides. (Forget the right side.) However, the side where the red arrow is pointing cannot be filleted, even if the radius is less than 25. (The white arrows indicate the corners that are to be filleted with radius 9.525) Please explain why the part where the red arrow is pointing cannot be filleted. Are there any solutions? Quote
ReMark Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 When you use the Fillet command and you are given the prompt Select an edge [Chain/Radius]: do you respond with a "c" (for chain) then select the appropriate edges? Quote
ReMark Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I assumed you wanted to fillet the top and bottom edges. Is that correct? Just out of curiousity, what is the object you are drawing? Quote
marlon Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 It says Modeling Operation Error: Could not find acceptable sequence of capping faces to trim blend face. Failed to perform blend. Failure while filleting. The top and bottom can be filleted just fine, without using chain. Every side and corner can be filleted with radius 25 and 9.525 respectively, except for that one side. I cannot use chain to select all sides because no side would be filleted. The object is just a part of a furniture. It's supposed to be a piece of wood. Quote
ReMark Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Judging by your answer I sense I've filleted the object incorrectly then. Sorry for the confusion. Quote
kencaz Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Instead of trying to fillet the solid, why not fillet your profile before extruding. This would seem easier to me. KC Quote

KC kencaz, i tried that already (filleting the corners with 9.525 radius before extruding). That's not the problem. The problem is, even if I did the 9.525 fillet on the corners then extrude it, I still wouldn't be able to fillet the rounded side (where the red arrow is pointing). Quote
ReMark Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I guess I didn't get it wrong. I was able to fillet the rounded side. Quote
marlon Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 ReMark, then is it a software version problem? Because I'm still using 2002 Quote
