ReMark
Win7 Home Premium? Why not the Professional version? Going to be playing some games on this system aren't you?
29xthefun
Blinding machine, the case is great my mate has the same one, Corsair PSU will last a lifetime (also great packaging). Creative cards have been causing problems in Vista due to bad driver support. I would recommend an alternative to that. Asus Xonar cards have been doing well in reviews. And finally if you have the money how about a solid state HDD? ;-)

CadDan
Win7 Home Premium? Why not the Professional version? Going to be playing some games on this system aren't you? What's the difference between the ability of Home and Pro.? Yes the system will see some game play. But it's mainly a CAD build. Noahma
It will be on October 22nd. Even if I get the system beforehand, I can install the RC. If you do install the RC of win 7, do not get too toasty. Microsoft has said that there is no upgrade path from the RC to a retail version of Windows 7, it must be a fresh clean install. The clean install would be no problem as that is what I had planned originally. It's either Windows 7, or XP SP3 Pro (if I can find one). nocturne00
Have you tried to option in Core2Quad or Core2extreme for your processor? or does budget not agree You may want to jack up your RAM to 8GB, 4GB sometimes wont cut it for some of the latest PC games if your Setup will see some gaming. The budget does not agree with the extreme. The ram is 8GB, it's 2 of the 4GB (2x2GB).
ReMark
I didn't know the LGA 775 socket would utilize a Core 2 Duo cpu. Is that a fact?

Noahma
It will only be until Dell sells out of all its keys for XP. Microsoft stopped selling XP last year I believe. I would go with Win 7 if you do not mind reinstalling when it is released. I have heard nothing but good news about it so far. Here is a link to the comparisons between different releases of Windows 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/compare-editions/default.aspx in order to use the XP emulation mode, your processor needs to be of a certain type, otherwise it will be unable to use XP emulation, and you must own a copy of XP as well.
