wobelydangely007
Hi guy's, I'm having trouble getting my bearings and distance on survey maps. I'm trying to draw with civil 3d 2008. I have only drawn before using 2000 & 2004 with land desktop. With those you simply right click on a line and add static label. In 2008 I don't seem to have that option. When I right click I can't add any labels. Is there something I am missing????
lpseifert
There's a few different ways to label lines, here's one way for individual lines From the menu > Lines/Curves > Add Line/Curve Labels You may need to muck with the styles (Toolspace) to get it to look the way you want
wobelydangely007
Cheers mate. I guess there is no way to add a funtion to the mouse so that I could highlight a bunch of lines and label them all in one go though???
lpseifert
The command in C3D for labeling multiple lines is _AddSegmentLabels. I suppose you could add that to a shortcut menu, but I think you need to select the lines after invoking the command.
wobelydangely007
Thanks guys. Seems a shame that we lost the mouse option, but I used to love 8 tracks too once. Cheers.
alanjt
Thanks guys. Seems a shame that we lost the mouse option, but I used to love 8 tracks too once. Cheers. Civil 3D is great, but there's some really nice functionality missing that LDD had; especially labeling lines. They completely took away multiple selection for line labeling. At least they gave us the option to multiple label all selected pline segments and subdivision design can be labeled through your parcel styles. It's not all bad, just a little cumbersome at times. I have to say, it would take a lot to get me to go back to LDD for working with surfaces.
