Copy Single Object At Once

I have been sent a drawing that has been converted for me to LT2004 compatibility. I'm finding that the `copy` command only allows me to click on one object at once. As soon as I click on a second item ( to copy that too ) it removes the previous one for being selected. I can however draw the box around a group of objects to multiple select them but can't do it on an individual pick one, then pick the next, etc.

I am using LT2006.

Is this anything to do with my earlier thread about not being able to move attributes?
