jeffivy Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Hi, I am drawing a Store front and trying to place a hatch (Bricks) on the store front, however when I pick my point of destination for the hatch, it bleeds over into the windows. I have looked for missing corners i cannot find any. I changed the lines and used the rectangle tool to create the frame for my windows and it still bleeds over. Any advise would be appreciated. ReMark Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Just how are you indicating the area to be hatched? If it "bleeds" then the geometry must be "leaking" although you say there are no gaps. How did you confirm this? Did you use lines or polylines in your storefront construction? Quote

chelsea1307 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 have you tried a regen to make sure your screen is showing whats really there and it isnt off just a bit from zooming Quote
jeffivy Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 have you tried a regen to make sure your screen is showing whats really there and it isnt off just a bit from zooming Yes I have tried to do that and I even deleted the windows and re-drew them but the same thing happens. I tried to do it with just three windows and it still happened. I then used the rectangle tool and tired it and it still did it. I am so confused u would not believe. Jeff Quote

ReMark Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 The hatch is still not working? Did you try something different this time? If so, what? Quote
Ollie8974 Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Draw a line vertically down the area you are trying to hatch. Make sure the line extends past the hatch border. Quote
Brooklyn Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I have had this problem from time to time & what I do when a hatch bleeds over (such as into a window) is I hit the space bar or enter key to bring up the Hatch menu & select "Pick Points" then place the cursor in the area that the hatch bleed into & click. Then I press my space bar or enter key to bring up the hatch menu again & then I hit "Preview" to see if it cleared the area. Funny I came across this thread because the very same problem (Brick hatch & window) was happening to me this mourning Quote
ElevateMe555 Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 :(CAN SOMEONE!!!! please help me!!! i have the worst luck with hatch im 17 a senior and have to make a library for the nawic competition and LA county fair... when i hatch it says point is directly on an object then it gives me to options.. "look at it" or "ok" i click "look at it" and it just shows perpendicular lins right where i clicked please help!!!!!!!!! Quote
Glen Smith Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 If you are clicking on 2 perpendicular lines then the hatch command has nowhere to hatch. You need to click inside a closed region, hatch will then fill in the area with your selected hatch. Glen Quote
