t1320t Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Hello- I'm obviously new to this site but it looks like it has a strong knowledge base. I'm wondering if it's possible to make a polyline (more specifically, a "donut") annotative? I use the donut as an elevation mark, but when I create a detail in paperspace, the donuts are way too large. If I could make them annotative, it would look correct relative to the entire dwg. Any insight?? Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Why aren't you inserting your elevation mark "donut" as a block and scaling it up/down upon insertion? Quote
t1320t Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 Well, I can do that, and it accomplishes the same thing. I'm working w survey software that is AutoCAD based, and the survey software brings in the points w a point symbol (in this case, a "donut"). So, it's possible to bring them in as blocks but I'd prefer to have the "donuts" be annotative if possible. Quote
ReMark Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Maybe a dynamic block would be more appropraite in this instance. Quote
t1320t Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 I'm not familiar w dynamic blocks yet, but I'll check them out. Thanks ReMark Quote

t1320t Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 That's a good read. I'll play around w dynamic blocks & see how they work out. Thanks Quote
t1320t Posted October 21, 2009 Author Posted October 21, 2009 Ok, I've got the whole "donut" thing figured out. On to the next issue... I have multiple fence line types that appear way out of scale when viewed in a PS viewport. If I could make these fence line types annotative, it would be the hot ticket. Any options or ways to achieve the same result since I can't make polylines annotative? Quote
