MarcoW Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hi there, I'm far from a beginner but there are some things in AutoCad that have never come clear to me. Every now and then I come in a the same situation: linetype issues. Today was the limit, I have had enough. Did not even turn the machine off, just left home. What should happen is that whenever I draw a line with a specific linetype (ie. hidden) it should appear as hidden on the screen. When starting from scratch and leaving all the presets as they are (global scale factor = 1 / current object scale = 1 / use paperspace units for scaling = true / on) this works. Even in the same layout with multiple viewports and different scales this works. The actual line has the same look in every viewport. One condition: after (re)scaling one of the viewports there must be regenereated before leaving. Can that be automated? Regenauto don't solve this for there is not a regen required... But okay, this I can mange. Now here it comes: 99% of all projects are based on architects plans. They are attached as Xrefs to the actual drawing. It can get worse: collegues drawing (ahum I mean trying to draw) in the same dwg. At a certain point I can't get it the way I want it. Is there a way to set everything (but the xrefs) in the same state as when starting from scratch? Setting the global scale factor = 1 / current object scale = 1 / use paperspace units for scaling = true / on don't seem to do the trich then. The final step to get to total disorder is to manually set ltscales foor the lines. My idea is that one gets lost when starting with that. Can someone explain me, or point me to a manual / tutorial, how to handle those linetypes and how to come out a situation more smiling? I am not interested in making linetypes or modify them, just want to use the standards (acadiso.lin). Again: if "hidden" is to be a line of "------ ------ ------ ------" 6mm / 3mm gap / 6mm / 3mm gap / 6mm / 3mm gap / 6mm etc. I need it to be plotted that way, no matter what plotscale the viewport is set to. Thanks in advance for every attemp to help me. Quote
lpseifert Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Msltscale=1 (will display per Cannoscale in the Model tab) Psltscale=1 (not global; needs to be set in each Layout tab) Ltscale=1 (or your preference) See Help for further explanation of these variables Quote
