Scoobydoo
I am drawing a cylinder (actually a plastic band) that is going to have a linear pattern cut out around the cylinder. I started out by drawing a circle to the specified height (1.81") and offset the circle (0.02") then extruded it out (0.5"). I need to cut out a small strip around the cylinder now, and am having trouble with it. I am very new to SW and am using SW Premium 2009. Any suggestion? shift1313
Glad you figured it out. When I use linear or circuilar pattern functions I try to do them in the modeling environment as opposed to the sketch environment if that helps at all. For instance if you had 10 of these cylinders that took 5 operations to create(extrude, cut, fillet and so on), you can pattern all these at once. Its also much easier to modify a pattern function in the modeling environment rather than in the sketch.
