Noahma Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Simple question, in Architecture how do apply a material to the edges of roof slabs? you will need to create a roof slab edge style that matches your fascia and soffit. Then apply them to the edge of the roof where needed. Quote
Bogbadbob658 Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 Sorry Noahma I not sure I understand. I'm not concerned by the fascia. I used a 3d object to create that. On the attached image you can see the edge of the roof tiles shows some red which is due the layer colour. The roof tile effect was created by applying a material to the a roof slab. When you do this to walls it maps the image on all faces but for roof slabs it only seems to do it to the top. Quote
Bogbadbob658 Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 Oh, I should also point out I'm teaching myself and what may be obvious to you probably isn't to me. That and the fact that I have a single figure IQ. Quote

So is your roof slab a single component? or do you have say a tile component, the body component? or is it one single component? The slab edge style uses profiles to create a soffit and a fascia. You can assign the materials separate for the two pieces. If none is needed, and you need just a material that shows on every side of the slab, go to your material in the style manager, and set the render material to object, instead of face, and check all of the boxes referring to side. It takes you through a residential project, and a commercial project. You should be able to pick up a copy for pretty cheap. Quote
