CadDan Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 This may seem like a stupid question, but what is LISP and what is it used for? I always see LISP related things on CT but have no clue as to what they're about. I do know that they're code though. Quote
dbroada Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I think this is covered in the FAQ but LISP (& VBA & ...) is a inbuilt programming language. It allows you to simplify complex or repetative tasks. All our routines are quite simple, mostly because I wrote them, doing such things as writing all the text on a given layer to a file to enable wire end markers to be made. Another draws a rev cloud on the correct layer. Had the AutoCAD rev cloud routine worked when it was first released I wouldn't have had to write the one we use! Now we are using Electrical the other routine could become redundant too. Quote
