This may be a basic task for some, but i cant seem to get a full line and change it to a hidden line.I tried many different ways using by layer function but it only devides my line in 4 or 5 lines instead of a nice dotted line.WHY IS THAT???help please:wink:

You are using the wrong linetype. "HIDDEN2" is usually what I use for a hidden line. The display of the "dotted line" is also relative to a few other factors on the screen, such as LTSCALE, MSLTSCALE, and PSLTSCALE settings. There is also a "DOTTED" linetype, but usually it doesn't show up very well on the screen.

 

So, best thing to do is to either (1) set the layer to HIDDEN2 instead of ByLayer or (2) select the line and set it to HIDDEN2 from the Properties drop down menu. This is after you load the HIDDEN2 linetype. If you're drawing these lines too big or too small, then you need to adjust the LTSCALE system variable so the "dashed lines" show up properly. Hope this helps.

Tks! finally able to draw a dashed line instead of a full line!

I too use, LOAD, HIDDEN2 for dashed (hidden) lines.

 

Adjust scale in properties to the view you want to see.
