ReMark Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 When importing an .xtp file is it first necessary to have a new, blank tool palette already created for the insertion of content? In my case this content would take the form of images of the blocks I want to populate my tool palette with and the text describing the block. Thanks, in advance, for your input. Guide me oh knowledgeable ones! Quote

Guide me oh knowledgeable ones! An .xtp file is the exported equivalent of one palette for Tool Palettes. When you import it, it will create the necessary palette. Quote
ReMark Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 So you're saying that in the Customize dialog box all I have to do is right-click on one of the existing tool palettes and select Import. Right? Then I can navigate to my xtp file and complete the process. Quote

alanjt Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I appreciate the feedback Alan. Thanks again. Happy to help. I had to do a little export/import a year or two ago; I was worried about it then. Quote
BILL WILLIAMS Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I don't know where to ask a question, what forum, etc. so I'll add to this one with my question (which I sent to the webmaster by mistake a few minutes ago). My problem is a tool palette that I created many moons ago (I'm using 2008). I don't remember how I added to the palette. It's a dimension tool palette to which I have added three dim style. Now I want to add more and for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. Any help would be greatly appreciated Bill Russell Quote

BILL WILLIAMS Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I created the dimension I wanted with font, font size, arrowheads, lines, etc. and dimensioned a line in an AutoCAD drawing and tried to drag the dim to the tool palette. Didn't work. Quote
JeepMaster Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 You mean the "dragging" part didn't work or the formating didn't work. Did you try dragging using right-mouse button. Once it's in the toolpalette, right-click it to change the properties. You should be able to select your dim style that you just created if you saved it on the drawing. Quote
BILL WILLIAMS Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 It doesn't drag, it doesn't do anything. (I have to drag with my left mouse button) What formatting? Quote
Tyke Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 You have to left click it first and then move the cursor onto a part that is not a grip, hold down the left button and WAIT a couple of seconds before dragging it on to the palette. When its on the palette, right click the palette item and select properties, then you can set them to suit your needs. Quote
