Tankman Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Nidhi Singhania, can you post in an earlier version of AutoCAD? Many forum members, myself included, don't have 2009 or 2010. I always save to AutoCAD 2000 for my clients and if needed, for posting in the forums. Quote
mrbucket Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 This is a basic block for 2d office chair. You should be able to pull from this and make your changes for the view. OfficeChair.dwg Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Well ok, here is the file in 2000 for your and others convenience... office perspective.dwg Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Thank you, but i need to know how to make the legs and castors of the chairs in the given perspective view..... Quote
Car5858 Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Here is a start for you. Sorry it's 2D Swivel Chair Base Block.dwg Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Thank you. But my problem still remains the same.. Quote
Tankman Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I have the below office chair, 3D, AutoCAD 2000. I also have another office setup, also shown below. Sorry, both are large files. Too large for the forums. If you want 'em, PM me with your email address and I'll send them via email. Office_Chair.pdf Office_View.pdf Quote
Tankman Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Ok...Thanks..... You're welcome! I just did a little render of the office layout. Quote

Tankman Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Awesome man..If i am not wrong , then, this is 3d modeling.. I wish i could make them as well..but... Of course, "You're welcome." We help when we can. Quote
iskalipsi Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 The legs of the chairs that tankman showed is difficult to draw in the perspective view you gave nidhi. But do you know basic 3D modeling? Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Thank you... Yes you are right, but i guess i have no other option left now.. Yeha i am aware of the tools ,to be put to use, for 3d modeling.. But am not quite well versed with it.. Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Tankman,i checked the files you sent me, but am dissapointed to say that those didnt quite help me .. Quote
ReMark Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 It looks to me that the legs of the office chair (see Office Chair.pdf) were created by extruding a circle along the path of an arc. To draw the arc correctly one must reorient the UCS. The rest then is fairly simple. Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 Well,ReMark ,i have tried even this, but didnt quite get it the way i wanted it to fit, in the perspective.. Quote
ReMark Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I think you have lost me. I'd get the geometry right first then worry about creating the perspective view you want second. Never mind. I think I see where the confusion lies. You drew a 2D perspective view as opposed to drawing everything in 3D then setting up your view. Quote
Tankman Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Perhaps StykFacE's tutorial, 3D to 2D, might help out(?). Look at StykFacE's step by step conversion. Tutorial: Converting 3D to 2D easily Quote
nidhi singhania Posted December 17, 2009 Author Posted December 17, 2009 Can anyone please help me, as till now i have not been able to solve the problem... Quote
