Hi all

Im having a problem creating a boundry, when i do it it says boundry cannot be created, create region instead. Any ideas why its doing this???

Ive attatched the drawing im working with, i want to make each section have its own boundry around the text.

Thank you for your help

Offset your curent ellipse boundry, this offset will be a poly line.

Erase the ellipse and offset the poly line the same distance to the origional boundry location.

You should be able to add the hatching with no problems.

You may also want to look at the open areas of the lettering, determine if you wish to hatch the areas also.

After conveerting splines to polylines (using "flatten") I was able to get some areas to form boundaries, others not.

The "fix" for some areas was to create a region (after converting splines), move regions to clear work area, explode region, then use "mpedit" to join exploded object to a closed polyline.
