Block colours

Hello

 

I wonder if anyone can help me with this one? - I make amendments to dwg files of AutoCAD in 2007. I insert the last known floorplan as an Xref.

I then need to 'grey out' all the previous work that has been done but show the new work in the relevant layers colours.

 

The problem I have is that if I change the old work blocks to grey it changes the new work blocks to grey.

 

Does anyone know of any easy way to 'grey out' old blocks but keep the new ones on there respective layer and colour?

Hi, i don't know the properties of your blocks but here are 2 ways you could do it: rename the older blocks before adding the new blocks, for example from Block-X to block-X_OLD, you can do this with the RENAME command, then change the colour of the old blocks in the block editor.

 

If the block colours are "by layer" you could move the old ones to a seperate layer, layer-X_OLD and just change the layer colour.

I have found that your suggestion works well.

With different parts of the block and the attribute text, I can quickly change

the colour properties of my blocks through changing the layer and layer properties.
