maiacad Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Hye... I need to plot a drawing with 1:250 scale to A3 size paper. The A3 size title block is in the MODEL SPACE. But when I plot the drawings, most of the lines of the title block (the border line) are hidden....it seems like its out of the margin... how do i manage to plot?..Help me..thanks Quote
enthub Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 hmm..i think you should check your border line visible to plot or not...check your layer option i think... Dp you plan to plot in model space or paper space?? hope it help's...or anyone can check from d'same version autocad? Quote
Tiger Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 So you have everything in Model Space? I would scale up the titel block 250 times to make it the right scale, then in the plot dialogu box, choose Plot Window, mark the Area to plot and hit Plot. How does it look then? Quote
maiacad Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 thanks guys.. Tiger: I did similar to what u've explained....but it doesn't come out as i expected... how about at the plot scale part in plot dialog box Quote
Tiger Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 when you use Plot Area: Window, set Plot Scale to Fit to Paper. An important note here though, if you do it like this and the drawing border is not exact-exact, the scale might be slightly off. What I do is first exatctly like I wrote, Plot Area: Window and Fit to paper - then you get a scale in the now greyed out box, if everything is exact, then the scale there is exact as well, but usually it's sligtly off. I then remove Fit to Paper and change the scale to an exact one. Hope this makes sense and helps you, only one cuppa coffee this morning, I'm still slightly off... Quote
maiacad Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 thanks Tiger...I did as u told me too...it works...and yes, the margin are not that fixed. I'd rather use PaperSpace in plotting....easier.. Anyway..thanks a lot TIGER...appreciate ur answer Quote
shah Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Hello everyone hese is first time im posting my doubt can anyone please tell me about how to take a printout in model sapce in scale it may any scale but im confused when im taking printout in fit to paper im taking please help me Quote
CJJ Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 This is obviously a matter of preference, but I like to put my title block in the paperspace and then fill it with a viewport for the model space. This way, I plot the layout at 1:1 scale, and can adjust the viewport to whatever scale I want without having to worry about scaling my title block. Also, you can put your notes/schedules/etc in the paperspace to make sure you have consistent text heights everywhere. If you start out in 1:250 and then decide later that you want 1:200, you won't have to change the scale of your notes. Quote
ReMark Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Hello everyone hese is first time im posting my doubt can anyone please tell me about how to take a printout in model sapce in scale it may any scale but im confused when im taking printout in fit to paper im taking please help me To plot "to scale" from model space you'll have to know the paper size that will be used and the largest scale you can use and still fit the entire image on the paper. You do know this right? Quote
