kili Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 In short - no, I really can't make any recommendations... I watched a demo of Land FX and we have talked about it at work, but we currently don't do enough "new landscape" designs to warrant the purchase. Perhaps in the future. Most of what we do is collaborative design with engineers and architects to protect existing trees through a development project. So to be compatable, we use Civil 3D. we use landfx for our schematic and construction docs (new landscape). rarely do we use the landfx in physical planning exercises to document trees. It's usually the Civil Engineers who supply the file with existing conditions, such as tree location and type. Then we get a hold of a Botanist to asses what tree(s) we can move or get rid off. when it gets to design phase is when we start using landfx. Quote
kili Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Pricy landscape programs. For a casual, on the bar, use, there are some very inexpensive programs to play with. At the bar seems as if a DIY project is in order! Sorry Marvin! none of them appear to support irrigation design. Quote
erikur200 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Have tried VUE, yes you can have som nice images, but it is not a good garden or landscape design program. Erik Quote
