I'm using autocad 2007 on a macbook pro via parallells

I've made a dynamic block to show either a 1 tonne chain hoist, 2 tonne or half tonne. It's just a 300mm. circle really. Happy with the visibility but.

I have defined attributes that show the centre of the point from zero. So my chaps know where to hang it in the roof.

All good but I use 1 drawing unit to show 1 mm in real life. My attributes therefore gave a position of x,y 23000,43567. this is too accurate for hanging chain hoist so I wanted to get the attributes to give a reading in metres e.g. 23m,43.57m.

I cannot work out how to scale my attributes so I re-drew the block at a radius of .15. I thought this would give a circle of 0.3 diameter. 300mm like I wanted. I then defined the block units as metres

I then imported it into a new drawing which is in mm. but instead of coming out at 300 drawing units diameter it came out at 300000 drawing units diameter. I've looked about on the internet and asked colleagues but no help on this..

If anyone can help that would be great.

All I need is a 300mm. diameter circle with the distance from zero in the x and y planes in metres on a drawing where 1 unit is 1mm.

sorry couldn't work out how to insert picture here either

Use in the field at first the formula, and already then in it once again a field with the centre of a circle and "/" on 1000.

Attentively read about units in the help.

Thanks for the response but I find it impossible to type into the field.

Presumably you mean the field that is shown at the bottom of the window that appears when I type ATT (attribute definition) and then click the button labeled insert field.. with all the %/

Unfortunately in my version of Autocad I cannot edit this field.

The only thing I can do to get round the problem is set up my block and attribute as I have been doing and then when I place the block in the drawing manually change the attribute value when it comes up on screen in the wee blue box.

Maybe it's another thing I cannot do in 2007
