Hello,

hope everyone is doing well...

I have a little problem, well it's not too little, I have AutoCAD Architecture 2009, i just downloaded it recently, i had that before but when 2010 came out i upgraded to 2010, but i didn't like it, i had problems with it, so i deleted it and downloaded the 2009 one again..

It works fine, BUT the problem is that there isn't any custom patterns, no wood hatch, no stones no shingles no nothing...

So i searched online and i found only one pattern, and i couldn't add it to the drawing :( i tried to unzip it and add the pattern but couldn't figure out where to put it and how to add it to my drawing ?

Is there anyone out there who had same problem ? :(

can anyone help me with this ?

I have three wall section details due in one week, and i can not find any shingles, wood, stones, bricks in my hatch library..

thanks in advance...

:)

Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you some hatch patterns you might like.

If you could post a few of them here that would be great, and i really appreciate your help..

many thanks

One option: There must be a hatch pattern file that ends with the letters pat. Find it. Open the file using Notepad. Append the new hatch patterns to the file and save it.

Links to Hatch Pattern collections

Another option - keep your hatch files one pattern per file in files named for the pattern e.g. a pattern called WOOD4 should be stored in a file called WOOD4.PAT *not* WOOD.PAT.

Create a separate directory to store all your custom hatch patterns in.

Add that custom hatch pattern directory to the Support File Path.

You will then keep your custom collection whenever you delete or reinstall AutoCAD.

PS the patterns will show up on the "Custom" tab on the BHATCH command or manage them with DesignCenter.

Your custom patterns will then be stored

Hello,

ok i found the Pat. file and i copy pasted the code numbers for WOOD4. and C-STONE and saved it, now i went to my hatch command and to my custom, there is nothing there :( ...

They won't be in Custom if you copy/pasted to your standard .PAT file, they'll be listed amongst the standard patterns.

If you ever reinstall, your altered standard pattern file will be ovewritten.

no i didn't do repair, how do you do that ? isn't going to damage my work that i have started ?

and i checked the standard patterns, and also nothing is there...

If you zip and attach the standard .PAT file as edited we could look at it.

i already attached it in my first post

Your first post attached a zipfile containing a single pattern pattern file WOOD.PAT which contained a pattern called WOOD4.

This pattern would fail with an error if referenced (if extracted and stored in a file contained in a directory on your ACAD Search path)because its pattern name does not match its filename. If you want to store custom patterns away from your standard patterns then you should store WOOD4 in a file called WOOD4.PAT

If you added the contents of that pattern to your standard pattern file (variously named, depending on your package) and it is unavailable then there may be a problem with how you went about that. If you post the results of your editing as an attachment we could look at it.
