ARConnaghan Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I am using AutoCAD 2008 and would like to know if anyone knows how to do sceening in individual viewports without changing layers. I am working on a set of plans that is 50 pages long. Each sheet has a matchline and I would like to show a little portion of the plan extending past the matchline but have it screened a little bit so its lighter and not as prominent as the rest of the plan (I hope that made sense!) Does anyone know if this is possible? I tried the wipeout command but it completely wipes it out. I'm looking for something that would not take too much time since this is just for asthetics and is being billed to a client. Thank you very much for any help!! Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Have you looked into plotting using named plot styles? The technique offers a lot more flexibility. Blocks, layers and even individual lines can be set to plot 'Screened' whilst the rest of the drawing comes out monochrome (Or what ever combination you are after) http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/ Quote
rkent Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 To screen an area of a drawing. For CTB files - Create a layer with a color of 255 set to 0% screened. Create a dense hatch (avoid dots, ansi31 or 37works well) on that layer, over the area you want screened. In your .pc3, under Graphics, Merge control, set to Lines Overwrite. If placing the hatch in PS, be sure to set Plot paperspace last in the plot dialog / page setup. If you use STB files use a plot style for 0% screening, color 255. Plot, adjust the hatch scale for your needs. Quote
