When I was using ACAD 2002 I had a lisp file called Steel plus basically containing steel shapes like beams, pipe, anngles etc. However the program will not work in 2008. Is there any files out there compatible with 2008? I never realized how much I use it until I couldnt use it anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

thats it, just a newer version. I was trying to get a free program but that might not be possible. I did a search on here and the files listed would not work when I loaded them. I guess Ill have to get managements approval to get this. Thanks Lee Mac

It seems to get good reviews on here:

Looking at examples of the program - it doesn't look too complex a program, and I could probably write something like that - its just having the dimension data for all the fittings... (oh, and the time of course)... plus, the SteelPlus people probably wouldn't like me much.. o:)

Its definatley a nice program to use with autocad. At least the older version is but the newer version doesnt look like it has changed much. Im not sure if management will shell out the money for it though since we can still use it for 2002 and Im the only one using 2008. I guess we will see. Thanks again Lee Mac.

Translator did pretty well, with a few exceptions:

"Lisp to load automatically when you start each session of porn" :)

could you load it?... you'll need to extract the file I posted by mediafire.... then you add the folder to your file support search path (I guess you know how)...

and then just load the STLPLUS.LSP and just run it using STLP

The other one... stl.lsp is the Al Steel routine to insert shapes... but it doesn´t all the options you can find on the steelplus... this stl.lsp needs you to be locate all the files in a Support path folder.. and then load the stl.lsp and then run it using "stl"

Ok. I extracted the file using mediashare. I then extracted the STLPLUS14 folder to my support file. I then loaded the STLP.lsp. Now when I type the command It doesnt do anything. Any Idea what Im doing wrong?

Well, i just did the same thing... in a clean autocad 2009, deleted all my support folders... restarted autocad... nothing was there, then just added then stlp14 folder to my support file search path... restarted autocad... and the toolbar was there, and just typed stlp and then the dialog box appeared.

So, It works... I guess you can check your autocad version... it's gotta be autocad 2008, 2009, or 2010.. not Lite...

what else... make sure to restart autocad after adding the folder to your support search path...

that's gotta do it...
