Nick_101 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hi Guys, I have a problem with 3D lines in a drawing that I want to be 2D! I've tried 'IRON' and 'FLATTEN' to remove the problem, but I'm getting unexpected results. Can anyone suggest a good routine to do this job. I'm using AutoCAD 2009 and 2010! Thanks Quote
BWells Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 What kind of results are you getting? Error codes or just the commands appearing not to work? Quote
Fire Alarm Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Have you checked to see if there is a thickness to the lines? Quote
ReMark Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 How about the old CHANGE command and the ELEVATION option? Quote
BWells Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Could it be that the lines in question are twisted. (Meaning: the UCS's of the segments are different from segment to segment.) I've seem it happen before when receiving client drawings. Just a guess. Should that be the case I've just exploded it down to 2d lines and rejoined the segments. then it's just a question of reassigning the elevation. Quote

Thanks Use this one... it's the one has worked better for me, works for lines, polylines, I think, arcs, attributes and other stuff... the only bad thing is that it does nt allow for selecting.. it goes for all drawing objects and you can complete the task by using the command line version of the command... change... then all.... then properties... then elevation... then 0. (zero)... and done Flat.lsp Quote
ReMark Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 That's funny. Flat.lsp uses the CHANGE > All > Properties > ELEVATION > Zero approach. Where have I heard that before? LOL Quote
