JamyB Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I've been having problem printing a particular file. I'm using Autocad 2008. The file has 2 layout, both having the same problem. When trying to print theres almost nothing on paper (few lines or blocks here and there). Same happens when printing to PDF or even the print preview. The obvious has been done (closing cad, rebooting, different computer, different printer.) Our page setup is the same as all our other drawings. I don't think this is a viewport problem since the title block doesn't show up. Does anyone know the answer to my problem. The winner gets 1000 points! Quote
todouble22 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 is it a drawing that you have done or one that you got from an outside source? have you checked on what layers the objects are on and if they plote accordingly to the .ctb file you are using? Quote
lpseifert Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Are the layers set to no plot? Also, try setting the plot area to window and/or a different .ctb file and see if that helps . Quote
JamyB Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Thanks for the reply. This is a file we've started from scratch. All layers are good and are set to plot. Were using our standard CTB. I've tried changing to another one, but no success. Its a weird kind of problem, it's seem's to have happen out of nowhere. But heres a funny thing I forgot to mention, my plot area is set to window, and if I change that window to be smaller then the actual paper size, I see everything.... Quote
Fire_col Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Post your drawing file maybe we can see what's going wrong. Quote
JamyB Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 The file is too big to be posted. But, as I was trying to clean the file to make is smaller, I discovered the issue. One of my xref's is causing the print to go all wrong. if I unload it all is good, but when I reload it, it goes back to how it was before. now the question is why? Quote

Potentially the xref is covering up everything else in your drawing area Quote
JamyB Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 I tried the draworder. No luck. The xref is clipped and is in it's own viewport. I thought it could of been because some unused images in the xref. I detached them, but still no success. I also did a pured all in the xref file, but still nothing. Quote
JamyB Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Genius. Audit on the xref did the trick. Mission accomplish. Thanks y'all. Jamy. Quote
