Autocad LT 2010 on windows 7 32bit

Hello,

i'm here because I have a problem with autocad lt 2010 on windows 7 32 bit.

 

The properties window (right click on an object like a MEASUREGEOM -> Properties) has blank areas. It has render problems and when I use the scroll to go up and down with properties list it is very slow.

 

I have done:

- Updated graphic card driver ( nvidia quadro fx 770m)

- Reinstalled autocad lt 2010

 

The problem is still here.

I probably would have suggested a REPAIR as opposed to a reinstall but too late I see.

 

When did the problem first occur?

 

Have you downloaded and installed Update 1 for AutoCAD LT 2010?

Update 1 installed, the problem isn't fixed.

 

The pc is a new one, I think that this autocad doesn't work fine from the beginning.

I don't know if using the REPAIR option will work considering a reinstall didn't.

 

What are the specs on your computer?

- ram 4 GB

- hd: 320GB Serial ATA

- graphics card: NVIDIA fx 770M

Judging by your specs there shouldn't be a problem running AutoCAD LT.

 

I'm finding it difficult to believe you could have two bad installs. When you did the first removal of AutoCAD did you follow the recommended procedure set out by AutoDesk?

I used the complete uninstall from Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Remove/Change

 

and then I selected "Remove" on Autodesk's interface.

 

Is it the recommended procedure?

AutoDesk says there are a couple of folders that require manual removal. Maybe the uninstall process doesn't quite get everything. Instructions can be found at the AutoDesk website. Do a search on the words "clean installation".

I finded that at the autodesk website.

 

I will try to remove Autocad using that instructions.

You might consider loading AutoCAD "flat" from your hard drive instead of the DVD. This would require creating a temp file to copy of the contents of the disk too and then loading AutoCAD right from your hard drive. If AutoCAD prompts you for the location of files point it to this temp folder.

Autocad reinstalled after a clean uninstallation. --> The problem is not fixed.

 

I tried a REPAIR but did not work.

 

May I reinstall the operative system? May I try other ways before?

Reinstalling the OS is always an option. Seems a pity you would have to resort to such drastic measures though.

I would suggest that you turn off the anti-viris program before doing a repair / reinstallation.

 

You may also want to turn of the registry cleaners also.

I did this test:

Uninstalled the graphic card 's driver and without a driver (at low screen resolution) the problem is fixed.

 

Reinstalled the driver, at the same screen resolution, the problem comes back.

 

Now I must find a good driver that works fine...

What keyed you to the driver?

The first is supplied from Dell ( nVidia 188.40 WHQL driver (Win7/Vista 32bit) )

 

then I have installed the last driver 197.03 realesed on March 19, 2010 from nVidia website from quadro fx 770m.
