Fire_col Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Just a quick one; If you don't use xrefs what would you do if you had 20 drawings needing the same 10Mb background in each drawing??? DWF Underlay. Quote
ReMark Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Just a quick one; If you don't use xrefs what would you do if you had 20 drawings needing the same 10Mb background in each drawing??? That's an excellent question and one I'm happy to say I currently don't have to face. However, I might be inclined to bring it in as a block, on its own layer and lock it. I might even choose to screen it at print time so it doesn't overwhelm the true point of the drawing. There is that one nagging problem which I admit Xrefs handle quite well and that is if the background drawing undergoes a change. Reflecting that in 20 drawings would take a script file to avoid using Xrefs. Would it be worth it? I'm not sure it would be. Quote
