Thanks, JD. I downloaded True view, and it permitted me to open his original, but I can't open your DWF with CAD or TrueView (TV only accepts DWG or DXF).

Just guessing here:

 

The assignment due date has passed.

 

Section views are usually covered in class well down the road from simple othographic projection - at this point in the class anyone still in the class should know how to use object snaps, trim properly and simple orthographic projection.

 

My guess is the assignment was do soon after the OP posted and once the due date passed the OP was no longer interested in the problem.

 

This short attention span and blinders-on view of only looking for the solution to an assignment as opposed to learning the general principles of orthographic projection and then section view representation is a sure shortcut to failure.
