mart Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D 2009 i have done a survey on site. to which i have created a surface contour. however the trianglution has just straighten out the lines, causing overlapping. is it possilble to remove these edge point to tie in with structures. and tidy it up showing the correct contours. Are you refering to your arcs becoming polygons? If so, just regen. Quote
BIGAL Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sounds like you need to add breaklines these are edges which will break the mesh into smaller traingles and change the shape of your contours to reflect sharp egdes. Quote

youngsvos Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 You should be able to add or delete triangle lines, and it also sounds like you may need to add "points" (that would be surface points) at the structure locations. These points should have elevations so that the surface will "rebuild" and use the appropriate information. Might want to search youtube for a video "Civil 3D Surface Edit", it may help you to understand surface editing a little better... Good luck, let us know if this helps solve the problem. Quote
