Want to see some objects in Hidden view

Hi there,

I'm pretty new to 3D Autocad, but have used Autocad for years.

I'm doing a 3D drawing and want to show some pipes under the ground, but not anything else that is hidden. How do I do it?

Autocad 2007 - English SP1

Thanks

Andrew

Layer Isolate?

Is this in model space or in a layout using a viewport?

It's in Model Space.

I still want to see all other layers, but in 3D Hidden View, not 3D Wireframe

Thanks

As well as layerIsolate you could simply take two elevations - one of the pipework and one of the environment. Then simply fade the environment.

Another approach would be to use objecthide from here:

http://www.3dcadmax.com/FreeAutoHide.htm

It works in a similar way to AutoCAD 2011s isolate / hide / reveal commands.

I'm using Autocad 2007, and don't believe it has Environment Fade (is that the same as layer fade?)

I want to make sure that I understand you. Are you wanting to plot a viewport with shadeplot set to hidden and have a 3d object in that view (underground piping) show up dashed?

I do this kind of visible piping images quite often. It is a 2 step process. Plot the equipment, plot the piping. Bring the equipment in with hidden lines, piping as continuous. -David
