Hey everybody,

I keep getting the wrong dimension in layout space.

The dimension is twice as big as in model space.

I´ve tried the "fit to layout space" in the fit tab at the dimension style window, but it didn´t do anything

Can anybody help.

Big thanks

Try checking DimStyles. Look on the Primary Units tab under the heading Scale Factor. Maybe it is set to "2".

it´s set to 1

Then look in the same location but on the Fit tab, right hand side, where it says Scale for dimension features. What does it say for Use overall scale of?

Hey everybody,

The dimension is twice as big as in model space.

Just to clarify this - when you say 'Twice as big' do you mean that the dimension is showing twice the length or do you mean that the dimension text size is bigger?

From reading the posts I think that you are getting twice the length.

Check the scales you have got set in your dimension style.

There is an Overall Dimension Scale that scales up your text and arrow sizes to suit your viewport scale and shows the correct length value.

There is also a Linear Dimension Scale that multiplies the shown length value of the dimension without affecting the text or arrow size.

Try setting a new dimension style and use spacetrans to calculate equivalent model space and paper space lengths in a layout.

Have you checked your linear dimension scale within your dimstyle, as suggested by nukecad?

Just to be sure, when you created the new layout did you set the scale to 1:1

Also when you are trying to dimension your object in the layout are you sure you've clicked in the layout space to highlight that layout?
