Dave Allen Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I have created my drawing in model space and created a viewport in a layout. My problem is getting the model drawing into the viewport at 1:50. Every time I add the standard 1:50 scale in the viewport layer dialogue box the image in paper space is tiny! I have also tried the zoom and Scale functions to no avail. My expecttaion is that the drawing should fill the A3 paper layout I have created. Any help on what I am doing wrong will save me losing all my hair. Quote
MikeScott Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Did you draw the object(s) at 1:1 scale? If not, then that's where you're running into trouble. Quote
Dave Allen Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 Mike Thans for the reply. How am I able to tell if I did not draw in model space at 1:1 scale? Dave Quote
Dipali Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 check size of the a3 paper you have created. it it is in inches & your drawing is in mm the problem u r having can occur. the paper size you need to select in same unit as your drawing (mm or inches.) Quote
iskalipsi Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 What mike means in drawing it in 1:1 scale is that 1cm=1 unit in model space. Then you should have no problem in scaling it to 1:50. maybe the size of your A3 paper in not right. You viewport should have the same size as your A3 paper. Quote
koopman Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 It usually works if you are in the viewport (tilemode 0, ms) and use the zoom command and enter the required scale with the letters xp behind it i.e. 1/50xp Quote
Dave Allen Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 Guys Thanks for all your help. I found the problem stemmed from the fact that I set the drawing units at mm and proceeded to draw with Meters in mind. E.G I drew a line thinking it was 7.700 M long but it was in fact 7.700 mm long. This in turn gave me problems with SC, Zoom etc. Quote
