Contour Map to 3D Problem

Hi everyone. First time writer, here. I am currently studying AutoCAD 2010 and I am very infatuated with my latest assignment: plotting a contour map and then turning into 3D. I like it so much that I am working ahead.

 

I discovered the tutorial from Fahim, but it is now about 4 years old. I managed to get quite far along though, and now I really need to ask for some help.

 

Attached is my drawing thus far, but Fahim writes "use the loft command to create a mesh".

 

When I use loft, it kind of works, but not really. It spills out beyond the boundaries, aside from complaining a bit with some error messages.

 

What should I do next to get to the point at which I can start adding features?
