Fillet on a curved edge of a solid

I have been trying to make a fillet on a curved edge of a solid; but in vain - How do I do this?

 

The solid is constructed by extruding a 2D drawing.

Use the normal Fillet command. The only difference is that in 3D you must select each edge to be filleted back to the solid. You'll notice this prompt: Select an edge or [Chain/Radius]:

 

You cannot add a fillet between two separate solids without first using the Union command.

But I am not trying to apply a fillet to a straight edge. I want to make a fillet on a quarter round edge, like a quarter of a cylinder and the rest is square! I don't even know if it's possible...

I apologize for the misunderstanding. Is this what you had in mind?

Hi again and thanks for trying to helping me out!

 

Take a look at the attached drawing.

 

I want to make a fillet on the two ends of this armrest. This should be like an upholstered armrest without any sharp corners. So the fillet is on a curved edge at the two ends. (And of course the straight edges too!)

 

I hope this is a better explanation! Sorry for my shortcoming!

I have been trying for half a day to get that right... I'm a novice, unfortunately!

I used the method described in my first response to you. There was no magic involved.

 

I selected one of the ends then at the prompt previously mentioned I typed in "C" (for chain). This allowed me to select the edge I wanted to fillet. I did each end separately.
