Turn it off and forget you ever saw it. You do not need grid. It will only slow you down.

lol jd

JD's right; they become less and less useful as you learn more about using AutoCAD. They're just there to assist you in visualizing scale, and to remind you of what your limits are set to.

However, if you use them like a crutch, you'll possibly pay for it later.

I used the grid when I was first introduced to AutoCAD way back when (no, dinosaurs had already died by then). Then it sort of lost its use as far as I was concerned. Since then only two other people I worked with, both engineers, tried to get me to utilize the feature. I gave it a shot but it was so maddening working with it I finally chucked it again. Maybe grid users are more rigid in their approach and non-grid users more free form? Only kidding Dave!

Awww do you need a hug?

LOL

Seriously though. I can see where it can be useful in electrical drawings on a small scale but in the civil world it is about as useless as a tit on a boar hog.

(Yes I am a redneck. Born in MS and raised in AL. Now I live in CA. Its been a fun trip.)
