SadisticIron Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Ok I have drawn up a centerpiece I want to use for our wedding in October and I did a cutout of it. My only problem is that the lettering is small and our plasma blows out some of the lettering. Is there a way to only have my cutting software cut out a single trace line of letters. Is there something I have to do in autocad or in my cutting software. I explode my letters and join and that is all fine and good but it wants to cut out the entire center of the explode. There might not be a way but I thought I could try. All thoughts are much appreciated. I dont know how to post my project or else I would to show you what I am working with for a better understanding. Thank you Sean Quote
kencaz Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Not quite sure what your asking. Is your Plasma blowing out the inside of the letters and you want them in place as in, not separated? I use a waterjet and we can control cutting through lead-in and lead-outs as well as adding tabs so small pieces stay in place. Not sure if your plasma cutter has the same features but it could be that the cutting kerf is just to big for the lettering. Maybe go to a smaller amperage nozzle and make sure your electrodes are clean for the smallest kerf possible. KC Quote
SadisticIron Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Yeah that is something I am gonna have to do is play with the cutting kerf. Thank you that just surpassed me for some reason. Thank you. Quote
