Learning Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I used to have multiple CDs of CAD Blocks but someone needed them more than I did. Now I would like to replace them but I am unable to remember where I got them from. I do remember that I did not have to pay for them and I am leary of free down loads. Thank you for the help. Quote
Learning Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 I just updated my profile. I am glad that there are people so good that they jump at the chance to point out others mistakes. I am glad that I was able to provide them with the chance to do so. Stupid me for asking Quote
ReMark Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I have no idea what the heck you're talking about so I going to ignore your second post. Regarding your first post. Parts libraries were once available through Thomas Register. AutoDesk, at one time, had an entire CD of blocks from all disciplines for sale back in 2000. I don't think they ever released another version after that. From time to time they become available on eBay. What kinds of blocks are you looking for? Quote
Cad64 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Did I miss something here? I see no reply to your question but you have responded as if someone had asked you to update your profile. If that's the case, I'm sure it was done with your best interest in mind. It's important for us to know what version of Autocad you are using in order to give you the best, most relevant, assistance possible. I'm sure there was no harm intended. Quote

I look to see what others are using but I suppose I should have updated before posting. Thank you. Quote
Cad64 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I just looked at your profile and you state that you're using Inventor? Does this thread need to be moved to the Inventor section or are you looking for Autocad blocks? This thread is getting more confusing by the minute. Can you give us some information about the blocks you're looking for? Are they architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, other? The more information you provide, the better your chances of getting a suitable response. Quote

I am still quite new with i Inventor and I may not know where to find what I'm looking for. It may be in there somewhere. I am sorry, I sometimes take offense too quickly! Quote

There is agreat deal of knowlege and experience here. I was only seeking help. I felt that I was being looked down upon for asking a stupid question. I was taught that the only stupid question was the one not asked. I am sorry for wasting your time. Quote
ReMark Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I did not think your question was stupid at all. I'm sure Cad64 didn't either. CADTutor gets requests like this quite often. Sometimes we might get annoyed from the standpoint of "How many times do we have to answer the same question?" but invariably someone does provide the information and we move on from there. Architectural and electrical. 2D or 3D for architectural? I'm assuming 2D for the electrical because most users need the blocks for doing schematics. Am I right? If you give us the benefit of a doubt we will extend the same courtesy to you. CADTutor is a community of CAD users. Quote
Learning Posted May 22, 2010 Author Posted May 22, 2010 Thank you! 2D most of the time. I am doing some house drawings. I would also like to put them in 3D later. Quote
