dimension deg min sec 2005 version

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This is my first post.

I have dimensioned a property layout drg. in 2008 ver.

dimension-aligned-placed text under line.(all ext. lines suppressed).

From that I could select entity, properties, bottom of box showed angle with a small symbol that looked like a calculator. Click, opened a box where i could select the dimension (in deg. min. sec.) and paste into position.

Finished result shoul be length below line, angle above line.

2005 does not allow me to copy this from property box.

any sugestions appreciated.

p.s.

2005-no multi leader, any way around doing the same dim. style without this.i have seen dimension - leader, but does the text have to be inserted manually?

Cheers

the variable to change how your leader looks in older versions is DIMTAD (I think) - you should be able to see the settings and what they do in the help menu

dimtad asks for a new value(1): doesn't appear to be what i'm after.

i'm trying to insert a dimension e.g. 40 deg 15'30" without having to maually type it

any other clues would be great

a leader isn't usually used for dimensioning (as far as I know) - it's more for notes, which is why it requires a manual input

I'm afraid I don't have ACAD on this laptop to go have a prod at :(

Sometimes I take a lazy way of doing this. I dimension the angle, and explode the dimension (but don't let anyone know, because it is bad practice), then there is the angle text without any typing. You have to clean up the extension lines etc.

thanks for reply

i know what u mean. that is a way out of it.

do u know what i mean, that by selecting the line, and then the property box, the angle is given, and can be selected and copied and pasted.the angle box and a few others r shaded grey and can't be selected where as others such as thickness, layer etc can.

i don't know wether it's my settings or just version 2005

thanks for the reply
