\X Switch Autocad Dimension doesn't work sometimes

I am having issues with Autocad 2005 where when I place the \X Switch in Autocad Dimension text it does not place the text below the dimension line but rather places both lines of text above. What is going on?

Yeah, that happens, no idea why, but usually when a dim has been manipulated in some way. I find it easiest to just delete and re-dimension, rather than spend the time worrying about it.

I've noticed some quirkyness using \X and \C, etc. as well. I'm not sure about 2005, but in 2008 and 2009 you can change the text position by modifying its properties. (Right click the dimension entity.)

Might not give you the desired results, but it might help.
