aggiemae Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 My work computer has an odd thing going on in CAD right now. Whenever I try to change line or text color, the program will immediately start not responding and ultimately shuts down losing unsaved work. It happens on any file. If you try it the same file on another computer, the color changes no problem. The computer has Vista, not sure if this may be the issue. It is running CAD 2009. We tried to use the repair AutoCad option in the add/remove menu- continues to shut down when changing color. We removed the program from the computer and reinstalled- continues to shut down when changing color. My boss said this was not happening a few months ago. Any ideas on what it could be? Quote

Could be corrupt data in the drawing. Try to run AUDIT command. Evaluates the integrity of a drawing and corrects some errors Ribbon: Tools tabDrawing Utilities panelAudit.Does not exist on the ribbon. Menu: File Drawing Utilities AuditAt the Command prompt, enter audit. Command entry: audit Fix any errors detected? [Yes/No] : Enter y or n, or press ENTER For easy access, AUDIT places all objects for which it reports errors in the Previous selection set. However, editing commands affect only the objects that belong to the current paper space or model space. If you set the AUDITCTL system variable to 1, AUDIT creates an ASCII file describing problems and the action taken and places this report in the same directory as the current drawing, with the file extension .adt. If a drawing contains errors that AUDIT cannot fix, use RECOVER to retrieve the drawing and correct its errors. Quote
nukecad Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 A couple of thoughts. Are the other computers also running Vista? Are some on x32 and some on x64? (I ask that because x64 OSs can have problems with drawings done on x32 OSs). Quote
