fny_w Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 hello all, I have problems with text alignment. In my monitor when I worked on it, the alignment seems fine, but in my client computer, all the alignment turn right and makes everything in a big mess... I want to know how to fix that because I've google and seems some had this problems but can't find the solution. I'm using autocad 2009 and my client's 2010. the text command I used is Mtext really really appreciate your help, thank you very much! Quote
ReMark Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Are you talking about left and right justification? Can you post an image or a sample drawing? Quote
fny_w Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 yes, and sorry I don't have image from my client hm.. just imagine this, when you make mtext, you suppose to create a "box" first, then you set the alignment to left or right. In my case, all the text turn to right alignment at my client"s computer, so the text position at the drawings change. Quote
Tankman Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I had a client using CadKey. He would save to *.dwg format and email me the drawing(s). On his PC the text alignment (CadKey) was excellent, correct. When I opened the *.dwg file, text was all messed up. I had to rearrange the text so the *.dwg file was correct. While a pain, was better than having to start from ground zero. Is he opening the drawing using another program? Quote
fny_w Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 What is cadkey? I never heard of it. My client and I use autocad, just different version, I'm using 2009 and the client is using 2010 Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Doesn't make sense. You create a drawing using MText with left justification and save it. Then you send it off to your client, he opens it and without doing a thing all the text is now right justified? What font is being used? Does this happen in only one drawing or all drawings you send to this client? Does the same thing happen with drawings sent to other clients? I've created drawings using 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2010 and have used those drawings in some manner on three different systems and have never had justification problems. Quote

My client and I use autocad, just different version, I'm using 2009 and the client is using 2010 CadKey is another cad program. CadKey can save to *.dwg file format however, the text gets sloppy, messed up, when you open the *.dwg using AutoDesk's products. I've seen the program in action but, never used it. My clients demand AutoCAD *.dwg files. Quote
fny_w Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 It happened once during my final project. When I brought my file to a place to plot my drawings, at there the text position change too. I didn't care then because of tight deadline, but of course can't do it again now =( The font I use is century gothic, does it have something to do with this? Quote
