Bringing parts from another drawing to make an assembly

I am new to AutoCAD but have used solidworks in the past. Me and a coworker are working on the same project. We wanted to draw up different 3D parts of an assembly and bring them together to make a assembly. I this possible in AutoCAD.

Yes, but it will be painful compared to SWx. You should probably be using Autodesk Inventor rather than AutoCAD.

 

You can either copy and paste

or

xref the individual parts into a file.

Then use align or 3dalign to assemble (no assembly constraints in AutoCAD).
