I have no problem inserting a Block.

However, I have been trying to find a more productive way to insert multiple blocks (same Block) one after another without having to...

1. drag it from a tool pallete

2. Pick it from the drop down list

I understand that i would at least have to pick this block once so ACAD knows what block to use.

The problem is after i insert the first block i just want to hit enter and insert the next, however i must go through one of the 2 options listed above.

I could just COPY the block multiple times but that defeats the purpose of the attriubutes as i would have to come back and edit each one to its corresponding properties.

The block has 2 attributes attached to it. Room_name & Room_Number.

Any ideas out there? Maybe i am just stuck with this method as it may be the way ACAD functions respective to blocks.

Thanks to any of you who have ideas! :D

This is not a huge problem i was just trying to use one less keystroke >.

If I insert a block from a tool palette, once placed, hitting enter or the space bar does exactly what you're asking for. Yours doesn't function like this?

Perhaps I've not understood properly, wouldn't be the first time. Are you wanting to carry out other commands in between block insertions?

Bonehead411,

I did Not try the space bar, i did use enter which brings up the attribute screen. I will give the Spacebar a shot. Get back to you in a few. Right now though my CAD has frozen so i am not the happiest guy on earth, but i can just redraw it right >.

When i use the Spacebar or Enter it brings up the attributes dialog box. (using a tool pallete)

However, if i use the insert command, it does not prompt me for the attriubutes again but lets me choose another block to insert. Not a huge deal just thought someone might have an idea out in the forums. i appreciate your help and comments.

If your inserting the same block one after another you could do a lisp first time asks name of block sets parameters scale rotation etc and then just asks for insertion point and enter attributes. You then though need a 2nd lisp to reset block name maybe a seperate defun.

Its pretty easy just dont have an example you would want to be doing lots of the same block not jumping all over the place with different blocks to make it worthwhile.
