ILoveMadoka Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 I will do my best to try to understand it and to see if I can make it work for my application. I hate bothering you when you have been so helpful so many times in the past. I will admit upfront though that VL might as well be Latin or Japanese to me... I really do thank you for your assistance. Quote
alanjt Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Ask me all the questions you like. The worst that can/will happen is, I can't/won't answer them. Quote

ILoveMadoka Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Here is my question (as less than a novice with VL...) (vla-get-objectname x) "AcDbMText") 'Width) (vla-get-objectname x) "AcDbMLeader") 'TextWidth) Where can I find a comprehensive list of the arguments for vla-get-objectname? I know I need to add a line for DIMENSIONS but I don't know where to find the information. I'm looking for the VL related .chm on my machine at the moment to see what is in there.. Google is not helping... Quote
alanjt Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 AFAIK, dimensions don't have a width on the text. Post an example DWG of these dimensions. Quote
ILoveMadoka Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 (edited) I can't post one of these files. proprietary stuff and I could get in bad trouble. Let me see if I can create a safe example.... My understanding was if you used a particular text style (whether as text or in a dimension) and then made a change to that text style, all text (or dimensions) with that text style would be updated with those changes. I have some entities that are not updating in that fashion. If I start a new drawing that is exactly how it works, Create a dimension, change the width in the style and the dimension updates automatically. That is not working on this set of problem files. I thought if the style dictated the text width and typically you can change the width of text entities, you'd be able to change the width of dimension entities in the same fashion.
