jbird68 Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 nothing happens when I type in HIDE. And I didn't think it would be this hard to hide the Tessellation lines. I've only been using ACAD for just about a month and I am having to learn 3D modeling on my own. My only other experience with parametric modeling was with Cadmax, SolidWorks and SolidEdge. It's not my fault I am using old software. It's what I have to work with and I am doing the best I can! Quote
ReMark Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Momma mia! OK then. We have one other avenue to go down. Do a test print and for the Shaded Viewport option select Hidden or 3D Hidden if available. How does it plot? Quote
ReMark Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Back to your previous post re: HIDE. Are you sure you had the correct viewport active? Did you try finding the HIDE command in the Help file? Quote
jbird68 Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 The only thing I can think of is that my version of AutoCAD must be corrupt. I have been told that the previous user had issues(which I don't know) also and has re-installed Autocad a few times. But I know he has made views without the tessellation lines. It's just frustrating me that this simple thing has to be an issue. I've been told by a few people that we are looking at getting SolidWorks. Now if it's true, I don't know for sure. Quote
JD Mather Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 The only thing I can think of is that my version of AutoCAD must be corrupt. I haven't had time to really look at this example, but there is something fishy going on. I don't think it is because of older version. I am sceptical that it is a corrupt install, but not sure. There is some behavior here that I can't explain and have never seen before. Hopefully someone with the time can nail down the exact problem/solution. I know if I were trying to find the solution the first thing I would suggest is setting this on aside and see if behavior could be reproduced from scratch in the most simple geometry that is representative of your part. JD Mather Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Hmmm, I get different results with shademode than I get with -shademode. http://help.autodesk.com/kb/display.do?ROW_ID=1-GQB-780 Notice that this Knowledgbase item is incorrect - set dispsilh = 0 to turn off tesselation lines. Also, I opened your file again and facetres was .5 set to max value 10 and viewres was 100 I use 2000 Try the differences between shademode and -shademode hidden regen Quote
